The proposed solution for the identity of the city of Zadar emerged as a project within an extracurricular assignment during the first year of the graduate program at the Design Studies. The solution was developed collaboratively with my colleagues Luce Storić and Mia Ribić.

What is crucial to the citizens of Zadar? What engages them in the life of the city? How do they feel within the community? How does the city communicate with its visitors? Starting from the idea of the city's identity as a system that communicates with each resident of Zadar, we propose a solution that encompasses its complexity and coherence. 

Our proposal unifies the old city center and the broader urban area, connecting them through the motif of a bridge. In this context, the bridge is not only a literal meeting place but also a symbolic location for overcoming differences, emphasizing unity, and connecting the city.

The concept of connection extends throughout the entire proposed visual identity. The symbol is created as a representation of connection and can also be interpreted as a monogram. The system composed of the symbol and additional pictograms further emphasizes the idea of the city's connection with various actors/contents. The visual solution is contemporary, communicative, and applicable to various applications.
